As one of the most important theologians of our day, Dr. Wayne Grudem has impacted me tremendously since my conversion to Christianity at the age of nineteen. I believe the first book of his I read was Recovering Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. Today, I own every book he has published that I am aware of. His Systematic Theology is in my opinion the finest on the market and the standard for Mars Hill Church and many of the churches we are affiliated with in the Acts 29 Network.

Over a year ago while in Raleigh, N. C., I met Dr. Grudem’s son Elliot and was encouraged at the loving and respectful way he spoke of his father. Sometimes a man is great in print or on the stage, but far less impressive the closer you get to him in the everyday affairs of life. But the way Elliot spoke of his dad was incredibly reassuring and made me all the more eager to one day meet and thank him.

On March 25-27, 2008 Resurgence held our 2008 National Conference titled Text & Context at Mars Hill Church's Ballard Campus. Matt Chandler of The Village Church was one of our main speakers along with john Piper, Jim Gilmore and Mark Driscoll. In between sessions, we had the opportunity to take advantage of our studio and record some interviews. On April 14^th-15^th, 2008, Leadership Network sponsored the Multi-Site Exposed | Seattle conference. The aim of the conference was to bring together a group of churches that are operating at multiple locations and to give smaller and younger churches the opportunity to learn from those that are further down the "multi-site" road.

On January 8, 2008 Dr. Peter Jones of Westminster Seminary and Christian Witness to a Pagan Planet came to Seattle to give a lecture at one of our local Pastors' workshops (Pastoring in Today's Zeitgeist) and to participate in a Resurgence Event (Walking in the Land of Blur). In between the sessions, Mark Driscoll had the opportunity to interview Dr. Jones about his life, his work, his books, the Gospel and our pagan culture.
